NOAA's CDMP 2008 annual report gives insight into a few of the 77 tasks supported by the program during the calendar year. CDMP tasks originate in the educational and research communities, both domestic and worldwide, and span from the tropics to the poles. |

The printed portion of this year's report highlights CDMP's role in digitizing sea crab and groundfish data for the Alaska Marine Fisheries Service, making pilot balloon data from the Dust Bowl era available to researchers, and working with the Southwest Fisheries Science Center to assemble a new Pacific Ocean temperature dataset. The video portion of the report features Kiki Jenkins of the National Marine Fisheries Service, Pasha Groisman of NCDC, and CDMP meteorologist Eric Freeman. Kiki explains the Turtle Exclusion Data (TED) project, while Pasha details CDMP's role in making Russian weather data available to scientists and Eric highlights the partnership NOAA's CDMP has formed with the British government to save weather records taken by the British East India Company.
